Lifelong friends, Anna and Rosalie have always shared a deep love of making, and have both spent many years as educators in primary and secondary school settings. Their individual practices—ceramics and textiles—evolved along different paths, yet their creative journeys continually brought them back to one another. United by a passion for slow craft, natural materials, and detailed, process-driven work, they decided to combine their skills and establish a home studio together. Their shared space is a place of collaboration, conversation, and creativity, where they support each other’s practices while building a welcoming environment for workshops, exhibitions, and community connection.
Silent sea studios brings together the ceramic and textile practices of Anna Williams and Rosalie Urosevic whose work is united by repetition, intricacies, and a deep engagement with the natural world. Through stitching and stippling—methods grounded in patience, rhythm, and accumulation—both artists build surfaces that echo the slow, intricate processes of repeated mark making on black clay and textiles.
